February 2011

The SSWGC will be busy the next three months. February 4th we will work the Guys & Dolls Tournament. March 26th will be the Annual Sadie Hawkins Tournament. April 19th will be the Spring Fling. Put all these dates on your calendars so you won't miss out on any fun things.

Second Vice President Shirley Giesking will need lots of help with the Guys and Dolls Tournament on February 4th. If you can help her in any way, please contact her at 343-1191, this entails selling tickets for our gift baskets, decorations, etc.

President B. J. Brower requested upon spending the Certs you win from golfing on Tuesdays to please write in the name of the firm and the date on which you spent it. This would help them with keeping track of Certs that are still out and not returned by businesses.

Upon vote, the new Bi-law passed. It requires any lady be-longing to SSWGC to attend two meetings per season to be a legal member of the club.

The next General Meeting will be February 1st. Come out and be a part of the club you belong to. Remember, you must attend two meetings per year to be a legal member of SSWGC. See you at the next meeting.

Faye Weeks, First Vice President, advised the Board has proposed a change in the bi-laws concerning "Article 2 on page 19". Please read it. A copy will be posted in the caddy shack. It will be voted on at the next meeting.

The next General Meeting is scheduled for January 4th.

Time to begin thinking about all the wonderful activities forthcoming in the new season.

B. J. would like to welcome everyone back to Tri Palm Estates, those who are already here and those who soon will be. As usual it will be a busy season.

Our first meeting will be November 2nd at 1:00 P.M. Dues must be paid for the year at this meeting if you have not already done so. The Tournament Chairman has planned some good games for this year. Let's have a good turn out for all the various tournaments and activities planned.

Vice President Faye Weeks acted as President in B.J. Brower's absence for the final meeting until next November.
She and B. J. wish all the Snow Birds a safe trip as they all head home for the summer and lots of fun for those who remain full time here in Tri Palms. Shirley Giesking, Second Vice President, indicated the Christmas Party has definitely been set for December 9th at the Classic Golf Course. More information will be forthcoming in November. Next Fall's golfing will open on November 2nd, followed by the opening monthly meeting in the club house.
Jean Beaird, Handicap & Membership Chairman, stated dues must be paid by November 2nd or there is a $10 fine. She also indicated those ladies who have not paid their dues by November 15th will have their names dropped from the membership rolls. Jean also later indicated that since we pay the GIN dues here, those going up North should remind their handicap person not to collect it again, you would only have to pay your club dues there.
Faye reported that we will be hosting "Guys & Dolls" for November 2010 and February 2011. The cost to play will be $10 per person. She indicated we would again be making the big baskets to be raffled off. Ladies are requested to either donate baskets, items for the baskets, or money to help purchase needed things. Also at the appropriate time help will be needed on those two days.
